20:45 Andiamo a Quel Paese
Comedy. Italy 2014, 90 min. Directed by Ficarra, Picone. Starring: Ficarra, Picone, Tiziana Lodato. In Italian with Russian subtitles. Valentino and Salvo, unemployed in search of fortune and recommendation, leave Palermo for a small country called Monteforte, where Valentino was born and have broke up the woman of his dreams. The situation in Monteforte is not promising: people whispered among square, church, bars and barber. The mature age of the villagers, inspire Salvo to live with the retirement of his mother in law, trying to involve every aunt and uncle that own a pension. Welcomed and forced to a strict diet, which keeps them healthy and alive, the Retired delegate life and the withdrawal of the pension to Salvo and Valentino, who buy the first new car and try to enjoy their life finally. But one after another the old guests die, leaving Salvo and Valentino in complete despair. The two do not give up and they invent new solutions to combat the lack of money. The epilogue is bitter and claims the urgency of a generational change of the ruling classes in Italy.

Berlin Syndrome

While on vacation in Berlin, Australian photojournalist Clare meets Andi, a charismatic local who works as a schoolteacher. A mutual attraction sparks up between them, and after a walk through the streets of Berlin, they spend the night together. But what should have been the beginning of a love affair quickly takes a wicked turn: in the morning, Clare discovers that Andi left for work and – by accident or otherwise – has locked her in his apartment. An Australian thriller by director Cate Shortland, present at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. The film is based on the eponymous novel by Melanie Joosten, which itself is reminiscent of John Fowles’ “The Collector.”

Dunkirk

In English with Russian subtitles. The beginning of the Second World War. Hundreds of thousands of British and Allied soldiers find themselves surrounded by enemy forces. A decision is made to evacuate the soldiers, trapped on the coast of the English Channel and stuck in a hopeless situation, by sea. Christopher Nolan’s first film based on real events, and dedicated to the Dunkirk evacuation, otherwise known as Operation Dynamo. Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy star in the film, after having worked together in the TV show “Peaky Blinders.” Hans Zimmer composed the soundtrack.

A ragtag group meets up at a Madrid bar. Suddenly, a hidden sniper starts shooting at the people leaving the establishment, and the terrified customers are trapped. The situation worsens until someone suggests that the source of the threat isn’t outside the bar, but inside it. A new thriller by Spanish director Álex de la Iglesia, who won the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival for his film “The Last Circus” (Balada triste de trompeta).

In the fervor of pre-election debates, refined and bourgeois Jean-Étienne Fougerole lets slip on television that his beloved France is open to any immigrants, and that they can find food and shelter anywhere - even at his house. And very soon, a whole gypsy camp forms at his door, headed up by the cheeky Babik. If he doesn’t let them in, he loses the votes of his constituents. His calm family life is over: the uninvited guests swim in his indoor pool, hold concerts in the courtyard, set up camp in the master bathroom, drink through his wine collection, and even make a pass at Jean-Étienne’s wife, the avant-garde artist Daphné. But that’s not the worst of it! Because Jean-Étienne’s only son, Lionel, falls in love with Babik’s daughter, pretty young Lulughia, and is planning on marrying her! Will the hero’s humanist tendencies stand these trials?
