He is fired from his job, he has no money or girlfriend, and it seems to him that everything in life has lost its old meaning. But he unexpectedly makes the acquaintance of local mafioso Gardot (Michel Blanc), who proposes that he become a hired killer. Jacques agreed – and gets unexpectedly very involved. Pascal Chaumeil’s most recent film, a satire of the traditions of French gangster movies, going back all the way to Alain Delon’s famous role in “Le Samouraï.”

In English, Russian and Ukrainian with Russian subtitles. “Dancer” is an ambitious and detailed study of Polunin’s personal and creative life, collected from rare archive materials, family records, and interviews with Polunin, those close to him, and notable ballet professionals. Famous documentary director Steven Cantor focused on Polunin’s extraordinary physical profile and his unique emotional spectrum, which shows through both on stage and in life. A rebel, a genius, and a loner, Polunin created a stir in the ballet world when he became the youngest principal dancer of the London Royal Ballet in history – and then when, at the peak of his career, he unexpectedly left, citing his desire to be independent, free, and not to belong to anyone, even if such a decision would be accompanied by self-destruction. The film also tells about Polunin’s collaboration with famous photographer David LaChapelle, who shot his expressive dancing for the music video for Hozier’s “Take Me To Church,” which became a smash hit practically overnight.

In English with Russian subtitles. “Eraserhead” was David Lynch’s first feature-length film. It became a cult classic, thanks to its imagery, unusual sound design, and general atmosphere. Lynch himself described his debut film as a “dream of dark and troubling things,” and considers it his most “spiritual” movie. The film was preserved in the National Film Registry by the United States Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”

As is often the case, demons of the past begin to come alive in familiar places, and the writer cannot stop from stumbling from one tragicomic situation into another. For the role of the writer, Oscar Martínez was awarded the Volpi Cup at the 2016 Venice Film Festival.
