23:05 Rocco
Documentary. USA 2016, 105 min. Directed by Thierry Demaizière, Alban Teurlai. In the original with Russian subtitles. Only at Pioner, as part of the International “At the Cinema, At Last” Festival. Rocco Siffredi (a pseudonym inspired by Alain Delon in “Borsalino”) means as much to the porn industry as Mike Tyson does to boxing, and Mick Jagger to rock’n’roll. As an actor, producer, and director, he became one of the most influential and recognizable figures in pornography over 30 years of work, enjoying popularity both within the industry and in mainstream media. This documentary film describes the events in the last months of Rocco’s life as an actor, and the camera accompanies him all over the world: from Hungary, where he lives with his wife and two children and owns his own studio, to California, where the majoirty of the filming takes place. Thierry Demaizière and Alban Teurlai’s film does more than just open up the backstage world of the porn business - it is a kind of confession of the man who both lives in the image Rocco Siffredi, and yet mostly outside of him. The film was presented at the 2016 Venice Film Festival.

Hunters meanwhile talk about what worries them: the cost of killing animals, weapons brands, and the differences between blacks and whites. This is new film by the Austrian documentary legend Ulrich Seidl, which raised a scandal at the Venice Film Festival, and yet another unmasking of human nature, dedicated to the hunt as a popular form of recreation and tourism.
