Steve Forest got his start in 1989 with the world-wide famous DJ and producer Andrea Gemolotto. He worked for the first progressive Italian clubs (e.g. Movida, Ranch and Mazoom) as a light jockey. In 1993 Steve started playing alternative music on his own and a year later he moved to London. In London he was introduced to break beat and dram'n'bass and for the next 6 years he played them in Britain's best clubs including the glamorous Blue Note. In 2003, he turned to pop-house and joint forced with Nicola Fasano. They got on well enough to launch their own label Jolly Roger: Sound of Pirates. In London Steve collaborated with Fatboy Slim, James Hardway, Mc Navigator, Roni Size and Adam F. With his productions and different names such as The Bootstraps feat. Sandy Marton "Sound of Ibiza", Nightbirds, etc. Steve is reputed as a fine producer. Lately he made a duo with Chriss Ortega also signed to Jolly Roger. The duo produced a brilliant joint work called "Modern Times" already singed for North America to the unique label Strictly Rhythm. |
