One of the most fascinating and enigmatic - if not the most successful - singer/songwriters of the late '60s, Leonard Cohen has retained an audience across four decades of music-making interrupted by various digressions into personal and creative exploration, all of which have only added to the mystique surrounding him. Second only to Bob Dylan (and perhaps Paul Simon), he commands the attention of critics and younger musicians more firmly than any other musical figure from the 1960s who is still working at the outset of the 21st century, which is even more remarkable achievement for someone who didn't even aspire to a musical career until he was in his thirties. 19:00 | Vitali, Corelli, Vivaldi, Tartini, Schnittke, Rossini |

Sergey Stadler (violin) performs Vitali's Chaconne; Corelli's Sonata "Imperiale"; Vivaldi's Concert from the "Harmonious Inspiration" series in A minor; Tartini's Sonata "Il trillo del diavolo"; Schnittke's "a Paganini" for violin solo, Polonaise, Aria, Il moto perpetuo; Rossini's Dedication to Paganini. Phenomenal virtuosity, bright performance individuality and unique musical memory allowing to carry in mind and "in fingers" nearly all violin repertoire brought Sergey Stadler on the top of fame. D. S. Likhachev called him "Russian Paganini", this comparison imposes a high responsibility and Sergey justifies it one hundred percent. He was among few violinists to play on the great Italian's violin at the public concert. MMDM Svetlanov Hall |
