Moscow Yacht Festival hosts a concert featuring Mumiy Troll and The Invisible (UK). Mumiy Troll (pronounced Moo-me Troll) is undoubtedly the most influential Russian band since the fall of the Soviet regime. Mumiy Troll actually left their mark on rock history with startling albums and live performances bursting with energy, warmth and total debauchery. The band was formed in 1981 in Vladivostok by Ilya Lagutenko. The literal name of the band, mummy troll, has no specific meaning in Russian, and is reminiscent of the Tove Jansson’s characters, the Moomintrolls. The Invisible was born when towards the end of 2006, three friends – Dave Okumu (Jade Fox, Matthew Herbert), Tom Herbert (Jade Fox, Polar Bear) and Leo Taylor (Gramme, Zongamin, Matthew Herbert) – started work on what was initially intended as Dave’s solo project. An exciting, beautiful album gradually emerged and during the process of its creation the three Londoners fused into a fully-fledged trio. Royal Yacht Club |
