Since then, Talib Kweli has established himself as one of rap’s premier acts, delivering stunning, uplifting singles like “Get By” and acclaimed, well-rounded and thought-provoking albums like 2007’s Eardrum. 50 Cent named Kweli as one of his favourite rappers and he’s also been famously name-dropped in Jay-Z’s rhymes. At the same time, Hi-Tek has become one of rap’s go-to producers, working extensively with Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, G-Unit, The Game and Ghostface Killah, among others.
19:00 Swingle Singers (UK)
Swingle Singers established a guideline for many vocal outfits singing a capella. It was Swingle Singers who once created a great stir turning Bach's "The Well-Tempered Clavier" into jazz, with the following fugues, madrigals, and classic orchestra overtures being transformed into choir swing compositions. Multi-Grammy award-winning Swingle Singers collaborated with stars and contemporary composers, e.g. Luciano Berio, expanding its repertoire with movie themes, pop and rock hits. For 35 years Swingle Singers have given thousands of concerts, released scores of albums and about a thousand arrangements. Recently released new album "Ferris Wheels" features 12 brilliant arrangements of the famous compositions by Joni Mitchel, The Beatles, Michel Legrand, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Beach Boys, Bjork, Annie Lennox and others.
