19:00 | Alessandro Safina (Italy) |
The early 21st century saw the rise of Italian singer Alessandro Safina, who has combined his opera roots with modern-day pop music, to create a striking, hard-to-categorize style. Born in 1968 in a small town of Siena, Italy, Safina became interested in opera at an early age, and sang in stage productions across Europe of such operas as Puccini's La Boheme and Tchaykovski's Eugene Onegin. It wasn't until he was late in his teens that Safina became an admirer of pop and rock music, drawing inspiration from such bands as Genesis, the Clash, Simple Minds, and U2. Shortly thereafter, he began to combine the two styles together. Read more Crocus City Hall |

Jeremiah Griffin started singing and composing at the age of 15 and was personally invited to enter New England Conservatory. Soon after he was signed to Universal. His debut album "Chasing Forever" sold 300,000 copies in its first week of release. Today Jeremiah's audience numbers millions of TV viewers of VH1, BET, Centric, MTV and Tempo. His music videos compete in popularity with works by Jorge Michael. And, of course, he gives lots of concerts in New York, Chicago, Los-Angeles. Melvin Van Peebles – an experienced producer, actor, composer and director - was the one who skilfully promoted Jeremiah and made him shine like a faceted diamond. Igor Butman Club |
