21:00 Gaudi feat. Danny Ladwa (UK)
GaudiThere's no easy way to encapsulate Gaudi's vast body of work. For the past three decades, the innovative producer and solo artist has been shattering genre barriers, pioneering the electronic and dance music worlds, and amassing a stunning collection of originals, remixes, collaborations, and soundtracks spanning the worlds of reggae, dub, breaks, globalbeat, and cutting-edge psychedelic bass music. Whether he's finessing high-profile projects in the studio, or whipping a crowd into a frenzy, the Italian-born UK-based artist places all importance on sonic perfection, and providing the best aural experience for his fans. He has done so for his entire career, which has seen the release of 13 solo albums, over a hundred compilations, 250 productions and a number of movie soundtracks. Live, every Gaudi performance is unique and unpredictable in the best possible way as he never uses a computer onstage. A consummate musician and performer, he plays live theremin, MiniMoog, vocoder, tape echoes, electronic percussion, multi-effects, Stylophone and dub sirens, and mixes live dub vocals thru his analogue equipment to maximum effect. Beyond the music, a burning passion reveals itself in a scathing rebuttal of tyranny and oppression through sonic resistance. Gaudi was nominated for the "World Music Awards" with his chart topping album Dub Qawwali. Gaudi's eclectic style and versatility has kept him at the forefront of his field throughout a notable and prolific career; this latest accolade confirms the London-based Italian-born music producer/solo artist's credentials as a force to be reckoned with in the international music scene. There is a natural sensitivity to Gaudi's music which enables him to unify different forms of sound fro around the world and represent them in his own personal style, while at the same time, most importantly, keeping the heart, integrity and significance of the cultural roots. His music, which is an organic fusion of Dub, Electronica and Worldbeat is rarely off the playlists and regularly being performed live in the UK and internationally. In 2013, Gaudi released his current album In Between Times (Six Degrees Records), a dynamic and diverse musical journey that seamlessly blends heavy bass lines, stunning electronic soundscapes and powerful political messages, and firmly rooted in dub reggae which is the core of everything Gaudi does. Guests on the album include reggae legends Lee Scratch Perry, Michael Rose and Twilight Circus; electronic pioneers The Orb, Raja Ram from Shpongle; and beatboxer extraordinaire Danny Ladwa, who performs alongside GAUDI, spreading the words of peace, love, and tolerance. The pair have traveled the world, headlining and performing at some of the best festivals on the planet, from Shambhala in Canada; to the Boom Festival in Portugal; Glastonbury, Glade, Waveform in the UK; Ozora and S.U.N. in Hungary; Symbiosis, Sonic Bloom, Lightning in a Bottle, Photosynthesis and Burning Man on the West Coast; Wakarusa in the South; The Big Up and Gratifly on the East Coast; Indigo in Israel; Rainbow Serpent, Earthcore and Peatsridge in Australia; Universo Paralello and Skol Beat in Brazil; Envision in Costa Rica; Sonica in Italy, and far, far beyond. In 2014, Gaudi and Danny Ladwa look to take the sonic mission even wider, putting social injustice and corporate malfeasance under a microscope, uniting brothers and sisters across borders, across class lines, and around the world.
