Pratum Integrum Orchestra performs Luigi Boccherini's Symphonies in D major and C minor (G 516 and G 519), Cello concerto (G 483) and Octet for flute, horn, bassoon, two violins, viola and two cellos (G 470). Like his illustrious uncle Frederick the Great, Frederick Wilhelm II loved music. He himself played cello and decided to employ Luigi Boccherini while the cellist and composer was residing in Spain. On assuming his post at the court of the Prussian king Boccherini was spared the journey to Prussia: the great musician began regularly dispatching his compositions to Frederick from Madrid.
