23:00 Mark Knight (UK)
Mark Knight’s legacy already ranks him as a leading player in dance music culture. His rise to the forefront has been more than just gigs and remixes; his contribution to the scene via his label Toolroom Records, demonstrates abilities that supercede the glorified title of ‘DJ’. This year, has brought him a Grammy Nomination for work on the Black Eyed Peas’ multi-platinum album ‘The-End’, 3 of the biggest selling records on Beatport’s ‘Best Sellers List’; ‘Music Matters’ ‘Flauta Magica’ & ‘Good Times’, an IDMA nomination for his Toolroom Knights weekly radio show and a prestigious Beatport award for his single ‘Good Times’ - 2010 has most definitely been a year of colossal achievement.

23:00 Mio 8YO.Happy Mio Birthday Party: Martin Buttrich (Germany)
Martin ButtrichMartin Buttrich is something of a mystery. Quiet and unassuming in real life, Buttrich is the quintessential silent studio partner. Or at least he used to be. In collaboration, he has produced pop (The Sugarbabes), Italo house (Sounds of Life) and progressive (over one hundred collaborations with Timo Maas). He’s even been nominated for a Grammy (remixing Tori Amos ‘Don't Make Me Come to Vegas’). But it wasn’t until 2006 that Buttrich came to prominence under his own name. Martin Buttrich is a passionate musician. His numerous releases on Planet E, Four:Twenty, Cocoon, Poker Flat, Nervous and Desolat are the best confirmation. He got his start in early 90s in Berlin and Hanover. Aged 18 Martin introduced his experiments to the project X-Rotation formed together with Daniel Bross and resulted in the following projects: Rhythm Assault, Sounds of Life and Phunk Diggazs. For years he created an impressive collection of beats and collected heaps of musical equipment for the studio he founded in 1997 in Hanover with a group of musicians. After the studio had been completely re-equipped, Martin released remixes on Madonna, Muse, Fatboy Slim, Josh Wink and Green Velvet. In 2002 he met Loco Dice and played with the idea of his own label. In 2006 Martin Buttrich and Loco Dice launched their own Desolat label with the Dusseldorf-based head office.
