Question:
Someone i know has been seeing flashes of light in his left eye. I was wondering what may be causing it. Thanks
AH
Answer:
We regret there is insufficient information to respond to the inquiry; indeed anything that results in a change in vision is more than sufficient reason to have the eyes checked by either your GP as a first step and /or an ophthalmologist. 'Flashes of light' mean different things to different people but even as commonly understood may have benign explanations or serious ones - as is frequently the case, diagnosis relies on a careful history and examination and your friend is therefore very much recommended to see his/her doctor.
