I just began taking vitamins (Centrum Performance). Must I chew them or swallow them without chewing?

Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. Best to look on the packet label - some vitamins come in tablets designed to be chewed, others are best swallowed whole (as they may be coated so as to dissolve and release the active ingredients in the part of the digestive system best for absorption). However, if you are eating a normal, healthy diet with all the food groups proportionately represented, you don't need vitamin supplements (as you excrete any excess more or less straight away)... best regards
