Packing your Personal Belongings
Packing Services at Origin
When using the services of a professional moving company, the company’s packers will handle the packing for you (you should not be expected to do any packing yourself). Make sure that the price for both packing materials and packing services is included in your quotation. The moving company should also disassemble any large furniture
items, such as beds and wardrobes for you.
Our Packing Materials
Careful packing not only protects your possessions, it also protects a moving company’s reputation. It is important to us to see that your goods arrive in pristine condition, so we take more than usual care when we pack. That is why Allied Pickfords uses only world-class, purpose-made materials, such as padded multi-layer furniture wraps, acid free tissue and sturdy corrugated sheets and cardboard boxes.
Glass, china and crystal are individually wrapped in clean packing materials before being placed into specially reinforced export cartons. Specially designed and constructed cartons are used for books, videotapes, and CDs. Clothing is either placed on hanging rails in strong wardrobe cartons or laid flat in suitcase cartons. All rugs and carpets will be rolled and wrapped. Any items that are not suitable for packing, including furniture items, large bulky pieces and large appliances, are paper padded as a standard and where items require additional protection, the use of double wrapping and wooden crating is involved. We can provide you with tailor-made wooden crates for any particularly fragile and/or high-value items.

All Allied Pickfords packers have been extensively trained in the craft of wrapping and packing for international executive moves, including the packing and handling of very fragile, large, heavy, and high value items.
