Question:
Actually, I have a similar problem to the previous person. My landlord has refused to register me. I don't want to move as I have a really good deal on my apartment. I don't really know any Russians that well yet who would be willing to register me so what should I do?
By the way, ATH issued the invitation for my visa and when I called and asked them about it, they said I would HAVE TO get a letter from my landlord or I would have no registration.
Can you help me? I know some agencies offer registration in an unknown flat but sadly yours doesnt.
John Smith
Answer:
Dear John,
Unfortunately the information you were given in our agency about the registration procedure is true. We don't think you should believe those companies that offer a registration in the unknown flat, cause usually it may cause some really serious problems and you might just lose your money. According to Russian legislation a foreign citizen with business visa can be formally registered only with the letter from the landlord and only in Passport and Visa Deaprtment(PVU), so please be careful with this procedure.
The 6 month registration can be done with the letter form a landlord (please try to speak with him again, maybe he is afraid of being known as a person who is leasing his apartment - that is not true, PVU department just accepts this letter as a confirmation that he allows you to stay at this flat). Maybe he can at least give us a lease agreement or the copy of the ownership certificate, if you can get this certificate we will register you even without a letter and agreement.
In any case at least one of this documents is required. In other case we can offer you only a 1 month hotel registration that you will have to extend every month.
Best regards,
Andrews Travel House
