Olmeca Fiesta Muerte: Moodymann (USA) and Lil Silva (UK)
November 24, 22:00
Khlebozavod # 9 Khlebozavod # 9

Sugar skulls, colorful make-up and carnival costumes. When the last Halloween rally is over, in Mexico, they start celebrating the Day of the Dead, a bright national holiday, embodying the joy of life and the art of having fun. Moscow is overwhelmed with multicultural events but the Day, or rather the Night of the Dead will be celebrated for the first time on this scale. On November 24, the mysterious house legend Kenny Dixon Jr., better known as Moodymann, and the young electronic artist Lil Silva will perform at Olmeca Fiesta Muerte.

The history of the Day of the Dead originates in the pagan beliefs of indigenous Mexicans and counts several millennia. These traditions were so strong that they not only survived the arrival of the Catholic Church on the continent, but also integrated into the modern life of people all over the world, including Moscow. For one night, the creative space of Khlebozavod will be reconstructed into the corridor leading from the Land of the Living to the Land of the Unforgotten, with a dry pool, multiple installations, freaks, Mexican food trucks, tequila shots, otherworldly decorations and rich bass sound from distant corners.

Mysterious Moodymann is performing here with a full-fledged DJ set for the first time in 7 years. His biography, woven of rumors and half-truths, and his demonic sound prove that there is no better candidate for running this macabre holiday. Lil Silva, who walked the whole path from a hip-hop artist to an electronic producer and musician, will "wrap" Olmeca Fiesta Muerte's party into straight house music with a good portion of mashup.

The Day of the Dead is unique, and the Night is hot and cheerful. It definitely needs to be celebrated in a big happy crowd, in a good mood, to the best dance music and definitely with a tequila shot. All together can be found in one space at Olmeca Fiesta Muerte. To guaranteedly get on the guest list, it will be enough to fill out the questionnaire at: http://www.pernod-ricard-rouss.com/olmecafiestamuerte and wait for the online face-control.
