Stage Director: Dmitry Belyanushkin. Set Designer: Valery Leventhal. Lighting Designer: Damir Ismagilov. Choreographer: Natalia Fiksel. Story of Kai and Gerda (or "The Snow Queen") is one of the most famous operas of Sergei Banevich. It was written in the year of the beginning of the Afghan war (1979), at that time, which, as the composer himself says, it seemed quite appropriate for this beautiful story about the warmth of the human heart, very much it was at odds with the "official" public mood.
