Opera in two acts by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Libretto by Emanuel Schikaneder. Director: Ilya Ilyin. Conductor-Director: Valery Kiryanov. The last opera of the great Mozart became the most famous and performed in the world. Why do we love “The Magic Flute” so much? Probably because this opera is about the most valuable thing in life – about love? A romantic fairy tale, filled with a deep philosophical sense, has an irresistible magic for the opera stage directors, because, created by Mozart without regard to age restrictions - hardly he thought, 16+ or 6+ will be put on the poster - is clear and sweet for both the child and the adult. That is why Helikon-Opera is preparing two versions of Mozart's masterpiece. From now on, the Moscow audience and guests of the capital will see the performance in full version (for adults) and in the abridged version (for children) on the stage of the "Stravinsky" hall. In the production team you will see a talented young Director Ilya Ilin, conductor of "Helikon-Opera" Valery Kiryanov, light master Denis Eniukov, experienced choreographer Edwald Smirnov. And, be sure, in "Helikon" there is a soprano, able to easily and perfectly perform the famous Aria of the Queen of the Night – so much so that the audience will run goose bumps! Helikon Opera |

Opera by Giuseppe Verdi. 165 min (with two intermissions). Libretto by Francesco Maria Piave. Music Director and Conductor: Felix Korobov. Stage Director: Alexander Titel. Sung in Italian. "The plot is contemporary. Perhaps someone else would not approach such a plot because of propriety or the epoch or a thousand other prejudices. As for me, I work on it with a great pleasure”, wrote Verdi while working on La Traviata. Marie Duplessis and Alexandre Dumas fils, Marguerite Gautier and Armand Duvalle, Violetta Valery and Alfredo Germont – all these are both participants of real events and characters in the novel and play and opera… In fact all of them are heroes of one story which in various degrees is topical at all times. Is there any difference between glam in the 19th century and in the 21st? The stunning popularity that the Verdi opera has enjoyed during a century and a half is in itself an answer to this question. Created in 1853 and not immediately accepted by the public due to the "prejudices" referred to by Verdi, today it is the very epitome of the operatic genre. "The events on stage mostly resemble Hollywood movies of the 1950s with fake barons, real gallery owners and art dealers. The set in which the story of Violetta Valery unfolds switches from shop-windows of luxury stores to spaces resembling contemporary art galleries". Evgeny Malikov "Literaturnaya gazeta."
