Theatre production. Scenes from the novel, 220 min. Director: Pyotr Fomenko. Subtitles available in English, German, French and Russian. The Workshop had spent more than seven years preparing the stage production based on Leo Tolstoy’s masterpiece. As a result, only the novel’s opening chapters ended up on stage. Natasha Rostova in love with Boris Drubetskoy is still a foolish child. The little Princess Lize is yet to perish giving birth, and Prince Andrei is only getting ready for the army. The war is just a subject of small talk and boys’ games, but the heart already aches from the awareness of peaceful life’s fragility and unreliability. Pyotr Fomenko Workshop Theatre |
