Acid King is a stoner doom band that was formed 1993 in San Francisco, California. Their signature is distortion, tight guitar-bass riff attacks and a Marshall-stacked, bloated low rear end. Ampeg bass amps and Ludwig drum kit supplemented the heaviness accordingly. Heavy but spacey. Lori’s searing guitar leads contrasted nicely with her nefarious vocal stylings. People appreciate something different and distinctive, enthusiastically supporting Acid King’s opening slots for the likes of the Melvins, Sleep and Hawkwind. The band’s name was inspired by the true crime book Say You Love Satan by David St. Claire. It is based on the crimes of Ricky Kasso (nicknamed ‘The Acid King’) who committed a murder in Northport, New York during 1984. The group released their self-titled debut EP in 1994 on Sympathy For the Record Industry, which they followed with the 1995 full-length Zoroaster. While touring to support the album, Lucas quit the band and was replaced by Dan Southwick, also a member of Altamont, the side project of Melvins drummer (as well as Lori's husband) Dale Crover. Acid King returned in 1997 with the Down With The Crown EP, which was released on Frank Kozik's Man's Ruin label. The following year Southwick returned to Altamont and Acid King found a new bassist in Brian Hill; the new lineup released Busse Woods in 1999. Aglomerat |

A Los Angeles, California-based heavy metal outfit with an impressive hard rock pedigree, Bad Wolves employ a lethal blend of melody and might that invokes names like Meshuggah, Mudvayne, and Sevendust. They gained mainstream attention in 2018 with their cover of the Cranberries' "Zombie," released soon after vocalist Dolores O'Riordan's death. Formed in 2014 by ex-DevilDriver co-founder John Boecklin (drums, guitars), the quintet also features the talents of vocalist Tommy Vext (Snot, Westfield Massacre), Doc Coyle (guitar), Chris Cain (guitar), and Kyle Konkiel (bass). In 2016, the band decamped to Audio Hammer Studios with Mark Lewis (Trivium, All That Remains) to craft what would become their debut album, which was released via Eleven Seven in 2018. Disobey entered the Billboard 200 at number 23, peaking on the Rock chart at number three. To promote the effort, Bad Wolves joined Five Finger Death Punch, Shinedown, and Breaking Benjamin on tour. This summer, Bad Wolves will be finally performing in Russia for the first time with an unmissable concert for all the heavy metal fans. Glavclub |
