19:00 Duo A&A. “Dance of Death” on two harpsichords
An extravagant A&A Cembalo Duo is the only harpsichord duo in Russia. Anna Kiskachi and Anastasia Antonova believe that harpsichord is an appropriate instrument for any musical style from Renaissance to contemporary writing. They encouraged the revaluation of the capacity of this instrument and an increasing interest in it. Kiskachi and Antonova attended the best music schools in Moscow, Salzburg, Vienna, and Munich, and were awarded at the world’s major harpsichord competitions (the International J.S.Bach Competition in Leipzig, Musica Antiqua Brugge, the International Harpsichord Volkonsky Competition in Moscow, and the International Early Music Competition YAMANASHI in Japan and the SVIREL International Competition in Slovenia). A&A Cembalo Duo’s brilliant performance at the most prestigious music festivals deserved pan-European recognition and made Kiskachi and Antonova famous. The European media praises them for musicality, intellect, mastery, and sense of humour. The debut A&A Cembalo Duo’s programme to be performed in Zaryadye Hall with a mystical “Danse Macabre” title represents the musical allegories of Madness, Love, Life and Death through dances composed in five centuries: from the Renaissance pavanes and galliards to the Hungarian passacaglia by György Ligeti. The “Danse Macabre” by Saint-Saëns tailored by A&A Cembalo Duo for two harpsichords is going to be icing on the cake. Some visual and individual background created by Vasily Bychkov will support each piece of the programme.

Russian National Orchestra and saxophone virtuoso Igor Butman perform works, by George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, Duke Ellington etc.The Orchestra was founded in 1990 by pianist and conductor Mikhail Pletnev and today is widely recognized as one of the world's top orchestras. About its debut at the BBC Proms in London, the Evening Standard wrote, "They played with such captivating beauty that the audience gave an involuntary sigh of pleasure." The RNO is also described as "a living symbol of the best in Russian art" (Miami Herald), "as close to perfect as one could hope for" (Trinity Mirror), and "astoundingly virtuosic" (Glasgow Herald). The first Russian orchestra to perform at the Vatican and in Israel, the RNO maintains an active international tour schedule, appearing throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas. The RNO is the founding and resident orchestra of Napa Valley Festival del Sole, and performs at prominent venues such as the Edinburgh, Shanghai and Chopin Festivals, and the BBC Proms. Gramophone magazine called the first RNO CD (1991) "an awe-inspiring experience; should human beings be able to play like this?" and listed it as the best recording of Tchaikovsky's Pathétique in history. Since then, the orchestra has made more than 80 recordings, principally with Deutsche Grammophon and PentaTone Classics, as well as with other prestigious labels.
