19:00 Sonya Yoncheva (Bulgaria)
Bulgarian operatic soprano Sonya Yoncheva and the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia "Evgeny Svetlanov" will perform various works by Giacomo Puccini and Giuseppe Verdi. Sonya Yoncheva has become an acclaimed fixture on the most important stages of the world, including the Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House, Teatro alla Scala, Bayerische Staatsoper, Berlin State Opera, Wiener Staatsoper, and the Opéra de Paris. Her unforgettable portrayals of iconic roles have received tremendous acclaim from critics and audiences alike. Sonya Yoncheva’s extensive repertoire includes jewels of the Baroque canon, as well as works by Mozart, Verdi, Tchaikovsky, and Puccini. Celebrated for her distinctly beautiful voice and exceptional dramatic presence, Sonya is equally at home on the concert and recital stage, having performed to critical acclaim in several cities including Paris, Dresden, Baden-Baden, and Munich. The Orchestra is one of the country’s oldest symphonic ensembles. "Evgeny Svetlanov" orchestra has performed at the most prestigious venues, such as the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, Bolshoi Theatre, Pillar Hall of the House of the Unions, the State Kremlin Palace (Moscow), Carnegie Hall (New York), the Kennedy Center (Washington, DC), Musikverein (Vienna), the Royal Albert Hall (London), Salle Pleyel (Paris), Teatro Colon (Buenos Aires), and Suntory Hall (Tokyo). In 2013 the orchestra had a performance at the Moscow Red Square for the first time. The orchestra’s discography includes hundreds of vinyl records and CDs released by leading Russian and foreign labels.

19:00 Vivacello Festival: Guy Johnston (UK)
The 11th International Cello Festival VIVACELLO features Guy Johnston, one of the most prominent British cellists, who tours around the world and teaches at the Royal Academy of Music in London. In 2000, when he was 19, he won the BBC Young Musician competition, and two years later he was awarded the Classic Brit Award as Young Classical Performer of the Year. Johnston has since performed concertos with leading British orchestras including the London Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, the Philharmonia, English Chamber Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Orchestra of Wales and the Northern Sinfonia, and in Europe, the Middle and Far East with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester, St Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, São Paulo Symphony Orchestra, Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchester der Hessischer Rundfunk and Musikkollegium Winterthur. VIVACELLO is the only Russian festival of cello music, which was first held in Moscow in 2008. The concept author and the all-time artistic director is Boris Andrianov: laureate of international competitions and Honoured Artist of Russia, who invites the best cellists from around the world to the festival.
