19:00 Academy of La Scala and Bolshoi’s Young Artists opera
This concert (two parts by 50 mins) is a follow-up to the cycle of collaborative performances of opera singers, participants of La Scala and Bolshoi youth programmes. Every year, the best of the best of the young singers chosen by discerning jury form a “youth gang” to study the fine art of opera. Whether in Moscow or in Milan (home of La Scala), they take part in concerts, first nights, spectacles etc, supervised by the best maestros. and every time the “gang” meets up they share experience, inspiration, and energy. They are the future of the world opera, however they can prove it right now. For instance, soprano Maria Motolygina is this year’s 1st Prize winner of International Stanisław Moniuszko Vocal Competition in Warsaw. And mezzo-soprano Maria Barakova won the International Glinka competition in Kazan. Leaders of La Scala’s Youth Academy have chosen their best pupils, too. Moscow public will undoubtedly appreciate talent and professional level of the young singers. Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra accompanies the young singers; the conductor is world famous Alvise Casellati, who is particularly known for his work with talented youth with some great results achieved. You could witness some of the results during the forthcoming concert in “Zaryadye”.

19:00 Peter Bence (Hungary)
Peter Bence is an internationally acclaimed Hungarian pianist, recording artist, composer and producer who holds the Guinness World Record for being the “Fastest Piano Player”. He has taken the Internet by storm with his piano arrangements of Michael Jackson, Queen and Sia collecting over 300 million video hits and a huge following on YouTube and Facebook over the past 2 years. He’s achieved sensational success with his edgy, percussive and expressive playing style that has broken down boundaries between classical and popular music. Peter started playing the piano at an early age and at the age of 11 he already published his first solo piano album. He was accepted at Franz Liszt University of Music in Debrecen, despite he was still being enrolled at elementary school. After his training in classical piano and composition in Hungary, he continued his studies at Berklee College of Music in the United States. Even though he was taking in every genre of music possible, he found his biggest influence in Michael Jackson. With his arrangement of Michael Jackson’s ‘Bad’ he quickly rose to fame, collecting 10 million hits over just a few days, becoming a massive viral sensation. In the last year alone he has performed for tens of thousands throughout 20 countries, opened BBC’s Proms In The Park 2017, in Hyde Park, London for 50,000 people. He is currently finishing his debut album, which will feature some of his best covers and solo piano compositions. The album is to be released later this year. Peter Bence: “Whatever happens I am not going to give up with my dreams ever, but going to stick to my artistic statement: We are human beings first, and musicians second.”

19:00 The Waltz King
Gala concert in two parts. 125 min (with one intermission). The most prominent representative of the Strauss family, Johann Strauss Jr. is known as the Waltz King. He wrote over 160 waltzes and for many years he was Music Director of the Royal Court Balls. However, he could just as well be called the King of Polkas, Marches and Quadrilles, which are no less popular than his waltzes. True Art does not lose its value over time, and the music by Johann Strauss Jr. is still as magnetic and captivating as it was before. You can get added evidence of that at the Johann Strauss, the Waltz King gala concert. The programme comprises his famous waltzes: On the Beautiful Blue Danube, Voices of Spring, Emperor Waltz, Tales from the Vienna Wood. Great Waltz, the Hollywood lm about Strauss’ life, relates that the Tales from the Vienna Wood waltz was inspired by carriage creaking, clattering horse hoofs and birds chirping during one of the composer’s trips through the forest. The forest theme will be carried on in the Huntsman polka, while Unter Donner und Blitz, Tritsch-Tratsch-Polka and Pizzicato-Polka will produce striking sound effects. This music cocktail will be topped with excerpts from the composer’s two most popular operettas: sparkling and vivacious Die Fledermaus and colourful Der Zigeunerbaron that rings with Hungarian and Gypsy overtones.
