 The word "superstar" is just not enough to describe the dimensions of Eros Ramazotti's worldwide success. The man is an undeniable force of nature, and now, 37 years after his debut single, and a dizzying 50 million record sales later, Ramazotti is ready to add the latest chapter to an incredible story. It's the tale of someone who, even as a young man born and raised in the Rome suburb of Cinecitta, dared to dream that he could have a shot of a music career. As a young hopeful learning as many ropes as he could get his hands on, he took up the guitar at seven and found his way onto movie sets as an extra. An international superstar whose appeal spans not only Western Europe but also Latin America, Eros Ramazzotti, with his thin, sometimes gritty, reedy tenor is a best-selling Italian singer/songwriter with a distinctive voice and a wide-ranging pop/rock style that encompasses everything from adult contemporary to classical crossover. He initially established himself as a chart-topping twentysomething pop star in the mid-'80s. During the following decade he grew more sophisticated as a singer/songwriter, remaining remarkably successful from both a critical and commercial standpoint in the process. During the mid- to late-'90s, Ramazzotti racked up no less than seven Top Ten singles on the Latin charts, and after 1994's Todo Historias, placed a dozen album in the Top Ten on Latin, Airplay, and Heatseeker charts as well as scoring on the streaming lists with literally dozens of singles.
