I Fagiolini was founded in 1986 by a British conductor Robert Hollingworth. Hollingworth was – and still is – a tireless explorer of baroque and Renaissance music. The ensemble soon gained world wide recognition due to its innovative but immaculate performances, with concerts often being staged as theatrical pieces. The programme “Another Vespri” was conceived in 2017 to the 450th anniversary of Claudio Monteverdi and released via Decca Classics to the highest critical acclaim. “Another Vespri” is a sort of follow-up to Monteverdi’s “world hit” “Vespro della Beata Vergine” (“Vespers for the Blessed Virgin”), written in 1610. In 1641, during the composer’s work as the Kapellmeister in St.Mark’s Chapel in Venice, a great collection of Monteverdi’s vocal oeuvres for evening worship services was published, with the addition of some other author’s works. I Fagiolini tried to recast some pieces of the collection in order to create “Another Vespri”. One of the best choirs of Russia, INTRADA (with art director Ekaterina Antonenko) takes part in the Moscow performance of “Another Vespri”. Zaryadye Concert Hall |

Concert by the Novaya Opera soloists and orchestra. 120 min (with one intermission). How much do we know about soprano? Most people are aware that soprano is the highest female voice that sings the parts of principle heroines in operas. Some opera connoisseurs may add that there is a coloratura soprano, which possesses a high range and extreme agility, a lyric soprano, with a lighter, soft tone, and a dramatic soprano, with a rich, powerful quality, like, for example, in Verdi’s later operas or in Wagner’s music dramas. The Ten Sopranos concert offers you a wonderful opportunity both to look into the soprano niceties and to enjoy the singing by charming ladies who will perform world opera masterpieces. The programme is strikingly diverse, comprising popular arias and duets from operas by Bellini, Rossini, Weber, Verdi, Bizet, Puccini, Delibes, and Tchaikovsky, and couplets from operettas by Offenbach, Lehár, Strauss, and Kálmán. This will be an unforgettable evening giving you a firework of emotions Novaya Opera Theatre |
