Margo teaches Chinese at a university and lives with George, a devout Catholic, who is devotedly in love with her. But she begins to feel constrained in this marriage, she cheats on her husband with her student, Anton, and wants to leave her husband for him. However, George tries with all his might to keep his wife, and is even ready to convert her to Catholicism in order to do so, while Anton’s poverty doesn’t allow him to make grown-up decisions. Margo is torn between two men and God, finding no solace in any of them.
