Judy
21:30. Biography, Drama, History. UK 2019, 118 min. Directed by Rupert Goold. Starring: Renée Zellweger, Jessie Buckley, Finn Wittrock. In English with Russian subtitles. In winter 1968, Hollywood and Broadway legend Judy Garland came to London to perform concerts meant to save her career. 30 years had already passed since her debut in “The Wizard of Oz,” which brought the still-young Judy to the top of show business and simultaneously plunged her into an abyss of drug addiction, alcoholism, depression, and disappointment. While she is getting ready to perform, she argues with her managers, charms musicians, and remembers her past with her friends and adoring fans, while her incredible talent, cleverness, and human warmth make people love this fragile woman who had come to know the darkest sides of fame, but nevertheless refused to break down.
