BritFest 2019: A Good Woman Is Hard to Find

A film adaptation of Stephen King’s bestseller and a continuation of the classic novel, “The Shining.” Thirty years after the events at the Overlook Hotel, an older Danny Torrance continues to carry deep traumas in his heart and tries to drown them with alcohol. When he quits drinking and starts working in a hospice, helping the hopelessly sick, his talent for “shining” begins to show yet again, and Danny gets in touch with Abra, a girl with the same gift. But she is in danger: the evil True Knot organization is after her, whose members feed off the shine like vampires. Together, Danny and Abra decide to face them, but this showdown could be deadly for them.

That’s when the strict teacher goes all-out, deciding to permit himself everything that had previously been forbidden. Weed, alcohol, one-night stands, and most importantly, the ability to speak the truth to people’s faces and not fit into the generally accepted rules: all of these become his new favorite pastimes. Richard’s joyous crusade against authority and hypocrisy gives his wife a shock and is met with shouts of joy by his students.
