Bunuel En El Laberinto De Las Tortugas
19:25. Animation, Biography, Drama. Spain, Netherlands, Germany 2018, 80 min. Directed by Salvador Simó. In Spanish and French with Russian subtitles. Luis Buñuel thought he was destined for stardom of surrealism, but is left with nothing. He is offered a documentary on one of the poorest areas in Spain, Las Hurdes, but he has no money. His friend, the sculptor Ramón Acín, buys a lottery ticket with the promise that he will pay for the film, he wins and keeps his promise. Reality, memories of his childhood, Salvador Dalí and dreams are mixed in his mind, endangering the film and his friendship with Ramón. From there will arise the Buñuel of the future. But what is left on the way? How much will that step cost?

Etgar Keret: Based on a True Story
16:00. Documentary. The Netherlands 2017, 67 min. Directed by Stephane Kaas. In English with Russian subtitles. This is a genre-defying film portrait about Etgar Keret, a legendary figure in the Israeli literary world. Readers around the world love his short, biting stories for their surrealism and wonderful sense of humor. His own life is also reminiscent of a fairy tale: it serves as the inspiration for an insightful comic book somewhere between documentary and animation, trying to reach audiences both young and old. In this hybrid film, the creators study why storytelling became such an important aspect of Keret’s life.
