Within the framework of the IV Vasily Ladyuk Music Festival “Opera Live”. The lightness of Italian rhythms, the passion of Spanish folk music, the slowness and intimacy of Russian romances and the daring of Ukrainian songs will join together in the program of this concert. Vasily Ladyuk graduated from the Sveshnikov Moscow Choral College in 1997 and from the Academy of Choral Art in Moscow as a choral conductor and as a singer in 2001. He started his career at the Novaya Opera Theatre in Moscow in 2004, his present day repertoire including over 20 operatic roles from bel canto to verismo. In 2007 he joined the Bolshoi Theatre company as a permanent guest soloist. In 2005 Ladyuk is the winner of three world’s major vocal contest: the Francisco Viñas Competition, Placido Domingo’s “Operalia” and the Shizuoka Interantional Opera Competition, all in 2005. Vasily Ladyuk made a highly successful 2010 debut with the Houston Grand Opera as Prince Yeletsky in Pique Dame. Recent credits include Belcore in L’Elisir D’Amore at the Mikhailovsky Theater in St. Petersburg and the title role of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin at the Mariinsky Theater and the Bolshoi Opera.
