Mirek Museum of Russian Garmonika is a branch of the Museum of History of Moscow. This unique collection of more than 170 musical instruments illustrates the history of garmonikas in Moscow, Russia and abroad. All the custodians in the Museum are professional musicians; they masterly perform modern repertory on the garmoshka, as well as the traditional one. The exhibits sounding in the guide’s hands make it possible to trace the development of Russian garmoshka from simple instruments of the middle of the 19th century to the most complex, modern concert models of garmonikas and concertinas.
