[edit] Description
Mayakovsky museum is an mesum of Vladimir Mayakovsky, one of the greatest Soviet poets. The museum is located in the house where the poet once lived and where with a shot of a gun he put an end to his life drama. The exposition is an attempt to reflect the bright, anarchic and full of contrasts life of this extraordinary person. Designed in the Constructivist style, this museum allows you to follow the flight of poet’s fancy, his wild futuristic ideas, his aiming at new styles in poetry, life, in everything. Each floor of the building symbolizes a different period of poet’s life, and settings in different colours contribute to special colour perception of poet’s work. Medley of Mayakovsky’s personal belongings, a movie about long-lasting scandalous relationship between the poet and Lilya Brik, Mayakovsky’s death masks, his books, countless posters – all this together, surrounded by fantastic interiors, helps to get a new angle on the life and work of Vladimir Mayakovsky.
