ok, so as far as i know you have to do everything at you local OVIR, is this the same place where russian natioanls do their passports?
and can i get the application forms from my local ovir or do i need to go to the main office? Thanks! |

You can register at any post office with your landlord. You need to take:
a copy of your passport info page and your landlord'sYour landlord must sign both forms. The post office employee will tell you the address of your local FMS, where you should send, by first class/registered mail, these forms. The post office employee will stamp the lower portion of one of the forms (the other one gets sent with all your copies to the FMS) and hands it back to you, with the receipts for paying for the first-class mail. This is your registration. A few weeks later, you should receive in the mail the confirmation of delivery to the FMS of your docs. Last edited by Penelope; 31-01-2008 at 14:46. |

thanks, but I was actually talking about temp residence. Sorry I just realised i didnt say thats what i was looking for.
so yeah, can I just get the application forms for temp residence from my local OVIR (or FMS as they are now called)? thanks |

Go to the local FMS and ask there the address of FMS for temp-res. permit.

My appologies to all, many of us refer to OVIR as FMS. So when I for example have stated OVIR as FMS. Why did State OVIR, because certain Russians still refer to the old name when translating to someone in English. Old names don't die overnight I'm afraid.
