Buying an IPhone
Hi,
I am moving to Moscow soon and was wondering can I buy a unlocked IPhone in Moscow or should I buy one in UK and try to get it unlocked when I arrive thanks

Why can't you unlock it yourself? It takes less than 5 mins. Just download ziphone at ziphone.org and press the unlock all button. Simple as that. No need to pay anybody to do it because they will just use the same program. If you need help with this then just ask because I am happy to help.

Hi - How did you go with this? I've been here one week (also from UK) and I'm popping back to London at the weekend and am thinking of getting iphone, unlocking it and using here with my MTS SIM card. I'd like to know my chances before I shell out for an iphone! Cheers.

Unlocking is basically no problem - my wife who is no computer expert, has worked out how to do it, and to upgrade software etc, because there are plenty of instructions and so on on the internet.
If all else fails, you can go to megasim.ru and they will unlock it for you. There must be other services, but this is the one that I know and have used. But if you buy in the UK, you'll have to buy a contract, won't you? I guess it depends what sort of a contract you have now.
