Biography:
“...People are mostly very conservative - they prefer to carry old convictions, even if these convictions contradict newly discovered facts. Our old kind life conceptions allow us to feel psychologically comfortable: we love them. But it brings us to mental indolence and awkwardness: we exert more and more efforts to keep status quo in our heads, instead of learning something new. Because by learning something new we have to change our life”. (NETocracy, 2004)
Alexander Magnus Bard did not make lot of efforts to keep status quo. This 43-year old Swede with South African roots ravished, revolted, amazed and shocked the world community making good money on it.
His universities
He studied at drama school and intended to become a priest. Having received diploma of economist, he started to work at a gay-club. He studied political sciences in Stockholm Science Academy and worked up as a hacker on vacations. He was going to be prisoned, but was spared and sent as a corps man to a mental hospital.
His projects
Army of Lovers - the first star project of Alexander - an economist and political scientist. Successfully straggling for “freedom of choice, conscience and sexual belonging” (it’s a particular determination of the team's mission given by the producer and musicians) the group sold hundred thousands disks. Their single “Israelism” (Album “The God of Earth and Heaven”) took the upper lines of world hit-parades, and MTV Company refused to show this clip as an offensive for the Jews. The next single “La Plage de Saint Tropez” became number one even in China. In spite of apparent simplicity, songs of the group had deep philosophical motives. “... We found out that Army of Lovers admirers have intellect coefficient higher than 140, and those who do not love Army of Lovers have IQ lower than 140, and lots of people have lower one”, - was said in British program “The Big E” in 1993.
Vacuum - the second successful project of Alexander Bard. It demonstrated to music lovers absolutely new musical style, which Alexander Bart described as “symphonic synti-pop”. The first single of this group “I Breathe” (1996) immediately gained first places in hit-parades.
Alcazar - the next Bard’s project was unlike all the previous ones, but also had great success. Light and melodious disco-tracks proved doubtless composer talent of the political scientist with sad eyes.
His business
BullGog is music Management Company. Its clients are well known representatives of Swedish show business.
Internet-company Interresting.org is a kind of ideas auction. Any NETocrat can propose a variant of a problem solution. The best solutions are rewarded.
Stockholm Records is one of the biggest Swedish recording companies, which has put out discs of such groups as Army of Lovers, E-Type, Vacuum, Cardigans, Alcazar and others. Alexander Bard is one of the founders of the company and a record-producer.
Besides all the above mentioned Alexander Bard is the owner of “Area26” web-company.
His religion
Born in 1961, Alexander Bard is a newly-converted Zoroastyan living in Stockholm, a member of Z list organization. Alexander came to his present persuasion after having learnt almost all the religions.
Participants of Z list organization are born Zoroastyans, newly-converted ones and sympathizing ones.
“In our organization the main criteria are tolerance, openness, justice, and frank devotion to the all mankind’s profit through happy thought, happy act and ties between all Zoroastryans throughout the world”, says Mr. Bard
His book
“NETocracy” has appeared as a consequence of our deep frustrations. We couldn’t bear any more ignorance and infantilism of public debate in the end of XX century on the future expecting to us...” .
This book is written in co-authorship with a well-known Swedish writer and journalist Ian Zoderkwist. The original Swedish version of “NETocracy” was published in 2000. As the authors say, reactions on this book were very opposite - from unrestrained delight to horror and aversion.
Immediately this book took the first place among Swedish bestsellers and kept it to the end of the year.
“We took the trouble to draw a clear picture of the reality, and in the most difficult and important aspects arising from the fact that new forms of information technologies win in all fields”.
What is Internet? - A tribute to fashion or a solution of all our problems? Avoiding life or the only possibility to realize oneself? Basing on their own experience, Alexander Bard and Ian Zoderkwist answer these questions.
