One of the world's greatest reggae artists have survived more than thirty years in the music business and proven the power of pop-influenced reggae music. With worldwide sales topping 30 million albums during their career, the UB40 story demonstrates just how far people can go by staying true to their roots. A traditional Jamaican-based reggae band with a slinky, kinetic lead singer, UB40 quickly gained popularity with lovers of reggae genre all over the globe with their melancholy wistful melodies, propelling reggae rhythms and subtle dub production. In addition to its world fame, UB40 had tremendous influence on the formation of the alternative music scene in Soviet Union, becoming one of the first and few "Western" bands whose compositions managed to get through the iron curtain and reach the Soviet public.
