Prokofiev's opera based on Valery Bryusov's novel about possession by the devil and exorcism in 16th-century Cologne, first staged in Bolshoi Theatre in 2004, is now back on the scene. In Francesca Zambello's production the action takes place in the 20's in Russia and is concentrated mainly on the theme of relationships between an artist and authorities. Conductor: Alexander Vedernikov.
