20:00 Carbon Based Forms (Sweden), Aes Dana (France)
CBLIt is hard to categorise Carbon Based Forms' music but the best description might be that of a groundbreaking mixture of acid, techno and house music. CBL are Johannes Hedberg and Daniel Segerstad, both born in 1976 and based in Göteborg, south-west Sweden. They met at the age of 15 and are still, amazingly, working happily together, after almost 20 years of collaboration. CBL itself was formed in 1996, as an offshoot from other projects, but soon became their focal point, culminating in their first release on "mp3.com" in 1998. They signed with the celebrated Lyon-based Ultimae label in 2002 and have since released two full-length albums (Hydroponic Garden in 2003, and World of Sleepers in 2006). Both albums have been extraordinarily well received by connoisseurs within the ambient scene. Additionally they have actively participated in successful collaborations with several artists, including Magnus Birgersson of Solar Fields in a project to compose the music for the Swedish dancer Olof Persson's "Fusion" performance in 1999. The duo's latest album, "Twentythree" was released in 2011. During the concert on February 5 CBL are to share stage with Aes Dana, aka Vincent Villuis, a composer and sound designer, Dj and co-owner of Ultimae records, electronic activist since teenagehood and one of the founding members of ASURA. Influenced by 70's floating music as well as world and electro acid, he offers some long and varied chills : semi-rythmic, hypnotic, ethnic, meditative ambient music. His mixes are wavering between abyss and sparkles, his style is based on superposition, change of light and shadows. Aes Dana always constructs his sets as stories where the chapters are opened and closed one by one.
