Alexander Melnikov, born in Moscow in 1973, performed Rachmaninov’s First Piano Concerto at the age of twelve and was heavily influenced by Sviatoslav Richter. Melnikov’s involvement with historically informed performance began at 18; today, it continues to play an important role in his repertoire. In addition to performances on the fortepiano, Melnikov shares the stage with Andreas Staier in a special collaboration featuring Shostakovich’s 24 Preludes and Fugues (Alexander Melnikov - piano) and J.S. Bach’s The Well-Tempered Clavier (Andreas Staier - harpsichord). Melnikov’s recent highlights include appearances with the HR-Sinfonieorchester (under Paavo Järvi), NHK Symphony (under Alexander Vedernikov), Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid and Mahler Chamber Orchestra (under Teodor Currentzis). Upcoming appearances include solo and duo recital tours to the United States, Japan, and across Europe, as well as performances with such orchestras as Concerto Köln, NDR Sinfonieorchester, HR-Sinfonieorchester and SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden & Freiburg. The concert program features compositions by Mozart, Liszt, Schubert, Scriabin, Shostakovich. Moscow Conservatoire Maly Zal |

Fabio Orsi is an electronic producer and musician originating from Taranto, Southern Italy. He plays mainly atmospheric drone and ambient. Orsi’s music originates with field recordings through which he seeks to capture images in sound inspired by the historic pre-war folk recordings made by Alan Lomax. Orsi says he's inspired by the way in which Lomax was able to introduce folklore not merely as a historic artefact but as “an expression of suffering with a thirst for rebellion” as well. In his compositions the languages of popular tradition meet the avantgarde approach, creating an original and charm mix. Since his 2005 debut, Fabio Orsi has consolidated his reputation as a key figure of the international nu-folk electronica underground with a bewildering yet fascinating series of solo works and collaborations dominated by psychedelically flavoured soundscapes. Orsi creates atmospheric audio postcards with a tangible sense of time and place, utilizing layers of guitars, old keyboards and found sounds, having a keen attention to details, loops develop so naturally that it’s almost impossible to notice when certain sounds are brought in and out. Kasabian are a British four-piece formed by Tom Meighan (vocals), Sergio Pizzorno (guitar and vocals), Chris Edwards (bass), Chris Karloff (Keyboards and Guitar) and Ash Hannis (drums) who left shortly before the release of the first album. Named after Linda Kasabian, Charles Manson's getaway driver turned state witness, this Leicester quartet has definitely carved out their own niche in the musical landscape with their special rocking sound involving elements of electronics, that can be compared to the one of Stone Roses, 70's Krautrock, and young U2. In September 2011 the band released their fourth album titled "Velociraptor!" full of phsycodelic motives and elements of space rock. The album set the band off on a large-scale tour, including a series of concerts in the US and the group's first and only concert in Moscow. Read more Adrenaline Stadium |
