19:00 Renaud Capucon, Moreau Edgar, David Kadouch (France)
The cycle "Chamber Music Nights" presents a concert of three famous French musicians Renaud Capucon (violin), Edgar Moreau (cello) and David Kadouch (piano) with the program of Brahms' music including Sonata # 1 for violoncello and piano E Minor, Sonata # 3 for violin and piano D Minor and Trio # 1 H Major. One of today's outstanding violinists Renaud Capucon began his studies at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris at the age of fourteen, winning numeours awards during his five years there. Following this, Capucon moved to Berlin to study with Thomas Brandis and Isaac Stern, and was awarded the Prize of the Berlin Academy of Arts. In 1997, Capucon was invited by Claudio Abbado to become concertmaster of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, which he led for three summers, working with conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Seiji Ozawa, Daniel Barenboim, Franz Welser-Moest and Abbado himself. Since this time, Capucon has established himself as a soloist at the very highest level. Capucon records exclusively for EMI/Virgin Classics. Edgar Moreau, who was born in Paris in 1994, had his first cello lessons when he was four years old and was admitted to the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris at the age of 13. In addition to his studies with Philippe Muller, he has taken masterclasses with Lynn Harrell, Anner Bylsma, Miklos Perenyi, Gary Hoffman and David Geringas, for example. After winning the prize for the Most Promising Contestant at the renowned Rostropovich Cello Competition in Paris in 2009 when he was just 15, he went on to win second prize and the prize for the best interpretation of the commissioned work at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2011. That same year he also won the Maurice Ravel Academy Prize. Edgar Moreau has appeared in concert as a soloist with various major orchestras such as the Turin Symphony Orchestra, the Russian State Symphony Orchestra, the Musica Viva Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestre de l'Opera de Massy and the Simon Boivar Youth Orchestra from Venezuela. He has been a guest at numerous festivals such as the Verbier Festival, the Colmar Festival, the Acathes Festival in Metz and the Festival de la Roque d'Antheron. Since 2013 he has been studying as a Young Soloist at Kronberg Academy with Frans Helmerson. Edgar Moreau plays a cello made by David Tecchler that dates from 1711. David Kadouch is quickly becoming one of the most acclaimed pianists of his generation. A prize winner at the Beethoven Bonn Competition in 2005 and Leeds International Piano Competition in 2009, Kadouch has become a regular guest of some of the most important orchestras, recital series and international festivals. In addition to this Metropolitan Museum of Art Recital Debut, which also marks Kadouch's New York recital debut, the 2010/11 season is a busy one with over fifty recital and concerto engagements. He will make his debut with the Tonhalle Orchestra of Zurich with David Zinman on the podium, the Orchestre Philarmonique de Monte Carlo, the Orchestre National de Lille and the Gulbenkian Foundation Orchestra and others. He will also be on tour in Japan and will again make recital appearances throughout Europe. Kadouch is also an avid chamber musician collaborating with many ensembles and artists, including the Quiroga Quartet, Ebene Quartet, Ardeo Quartet, Radovan Vlatkovic, Frans Helmerson, Nikolaj Znaider, Antoine Tamestit and Renaud Capucon.
