20:00 Rapoon (UK), Dead Voices on Air (Canada), Reformed Faction (UK)
Reformed FractionThis concert is to feature the most outstanding pioneers of dark electronic experimental music genre - the former participants of Zoviet France with their new projects. Rapoon is the ethno-ambient solo project of Zoviet France co-founder Robin Storey, operating out of the United Kingdom since 1992. In 1979 Storey, together with Paolo Di Paolo, Mark Spybey, Andy Eardley and others formed the pioneering industrial group Zoviet France, remaining a member until 1993; the year previous, Storey issued the first Rapoon album, Dream Circle, its entrancing fusion of Indian ragas, African rhythms and experimental textures anticipating the evocative soundscapes of the many releases to follow. Dead Voices on Air is an experimental and industrial project of another former member of Zoviet France - Mark Spybey. Many people classify a large portion of his works as Ambient, but Spybey insists his music is not ambient music of any sort and calls it "music for the eyes". Founded almost twenty years ago, Dead Voices on Air has released fifteen succsessfull albums and gained wide recognition among the lovers of the genre. Reformed Faction is a new project featuring both, Mark Spybey and Robin Storey. Using live improvisations as a basis for their music, Reformed Faction cut and paste to create compositions, following the grand tradition of studio pioneers such as Holger Czukay of Can.Their sound is based on the use of unconventional sound sources; children’s musical toys, ethnic instruments, homemade gadgets and sound processors. They produce visual music made by the human hand.
