"Kvartira" is the ballet in one act by Mats Ek which was created in 2000 for the Ballet de l'Opera national de Paris with the original title Appartement and was premiered at the Bolshoi Theatre on March 28, 2013. Music - Fleshquartet. Scenography and costumes - Peder Freiij. Lighting Design - Erik Berglund. According to Mats Ek, Kvartira does not tell a story. It circles around different situations linked to well known items, like a door, a lean-chair or a stove. A place we share with others or where we are alone, where the familiar turns its inside out.
