"Can’t Stop" was Rae’s first release on Defected back in ‘08 with house legend Kings of Tomorrow aka Sandy Rivera, the song was a summer anthem and set the stall for a string of strong releases; "Give Me Luv" with ATFC, The MTV number one "Persuasion" with Sandy Rivera and more recently "I Gave You Everything" with Juan Kidd & The Stafford Brothers. 23:55 | Last Step: Pinch (UK) |

Pinch, aka Rob Ellis, boss of the trail-blazing Tectonic Records, is one of a few heads in a unique position to dissect the arc of dubstep from its underground roots, cobbled together from overlapping variants of bass-heavy dance music, to its current arrival on the US stage as the soundtrack to sweaty, moshing youth. After getting recognized for mashing minimal, garage, and grime into his DJ sets, Pinch started to incorporate some dubstep plates. But it was the experience of seeing Kode 9 at the monthly night FWD>> in London that really turned his head and from then on it was pure dubstep. In 2005 he founded Tectonic Records, a label, that has gone from strength to strength, created its own sound and has received a lot of respect from the dubstep fraternity across the globe. 23:00-06:00 | Manday: Modeselektor (Germany), Mark E (UK), M.A.N.D.Y. (Germany) |
Arma represents a stunning line-up, just as usual. Modeselektor, an electronic production team of Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary originating from Berlin present an outstanding mixture of genres, playing IDM, glitch, electro and hip hop. Another popular guest is an electrohouse duo M.A.N.D.Y. from Berlin. Patrick Bodmer and Philipp Jung, the cofounders of Get Physical Records, achieved massive success in colluding to create music that simply makes bodies move. Their foot stamping, hair flying passion is the ultimate expression of a dance music phenomenon for many years. Mark E has established himself as a producer with a distinctive, almost instantly recognisable style. And his consistently strong releases for the likes of Running Back, Jiscomusic and Golf Channel have put Birmingham firmly on the house music map. As a DJ, he's no slouch, either. His sets split between house and disco. His music is overwhelmingly deliberate, and in that sense it’s quintessential house -unswerving, mechanistic, intoxicatingly simple. Arma 17 |
