23:00 Monasterio Night: Chris Liebing, Roman Lindau (Germany)
Chris Liebing"Monasterio Night" party in Space Moscow club features Chris Liebing, Roman Lindau (Germany), Speedy J (Netherlands), Peter Van Hoesen (Belgium). Chris Liebing is DJ, producer, radio host of a weekly show and the driving force behind the labels CLR and Spinclub Recordings. His sound has continuously evolved during his dj career, always true to his Techno roots. He was one of the first djs that used the new possibilities in the course of the digitalization of music in a consequent and creative way. The real-time manipulation of the individual elements plays an important role in his sets. Due to the good co-operation with various software and hardware makers, his current setup offers him practically endless possibilities. He is a worldwide requested dj and also part of the Collabs live act, together with the Dutch producer Speedy J. His productions and remixes appear in the play lists of numerous renowned DJs. Since 2005 Chris produces in his own (obviously "state of the art") studio in Frankfurt. In the same year a productive and still persisting friendship between him and Speedy J. began, which so far resulted in the album Metalism on Novamute and various singles. The current releases have just come out and there are plans for another Collabs album. 2009 was a year of many changes for CLR. Chris Liebing and his team celebrated the 10th anniversary of CLR, restructured the label, opened an office in Berlin and celebrated many great parties on Chris' club- and festival gigs. The residency at the BE nights at Space Ibiza became a big success. Music has always coursed through Roman Lindau's blood. Even if he weren't the accomplished producer and respected DJ he is today, the German audiophile would still be spending all his money on the stuff; giving over all his time to the art form. "I'm a music junkie. I need music to live," he states matter-of-factly. "For me it's the elixir of life." Good job, then, that he gets to spend his days shaping the nu-school electronic landscape alongside pals Mike Dehnert and Sascha Rydell with their Fachwerk imprint. One of the most prominent Berlin labels of recent times, it consistently deals in heavy techno sounds that are doused in dub and finished with an analogue authenticity which set them apart from the crowd. As a DJ he comes at his work from a different angle than most. Combining a varied selection of raw house and techno in his sets, recent bookings have taken Roman across the world; often to the hallowed techno Mekka that is Berghain and also to a number of clubs as part of the recent Fachwerk label tour. Jochem Paap (the Rotterdam artist owes the nickname Speedy J to his DJ skills) is unanimously considered to be one of the first techno producers to come from the Benelux. Together with Laurent Garnier, Aphex Twin and Richie Hawtin, Rotterdam's Speedy J helped define techno since 1991 with albums like Ginger, G Spot, Public Energy # 1 and Loudboxer - spearheading labels like Plus 8, Novamute and Warp. His latest projects span the audio-visual pioneer work of Umfeld, his label Electric Deluxe, his Event Series Electric Deluxe presents, and his upcoming Album Project. Speedy J's musical vision is genre blurring, creative freedom at the highest level of innovation and quality, it is providing a platform for artists operating within any conceivable genre in the broad spectrum of techno to fully explore and embrace the ever-expanding technological possibilities. Deeply rooted in the Brussels electronic music scene as DJ and producer since 1993, Peter Van Hoesen's considered by many as a man with multiple musical talents: from straight-up dancefloor jackin' techno to advanced abstract electronica. His tracks and remixes have been released on his own labels Time To Express and Foton as well as through Meakusma, Ostgut Ton, CLR, Hotflush, Exone, Token, Komisch, Lan Muzic, Curle and many more. He's active as a DJ, producer, sound designer and composer for contemporary dance and theatre.
