23:00 | SSMESS: Roman Flügel (Germany) |
Roman Flügel is one of the biggest and most famous names in the German electronic music scene. Having started his music career in the early 1990’s, Flügel is a chameleon performing in many styles, including ambient/idm, house, techno, electro and leftfield. A co-founder of the Angaku/Klang/Playhouse label he also works solo under the name "Alter Ego". Incredibly multi-faceted, a non-conformist and one of the stalwarts on the German electronic scene, Flügel has been one of the key players of German electronic music for years, building a discography that would make a mighty fine record collection all by itself. He has recorded numerous records under monikers like Acid Jesus, Alter Ego, Sensorama (alongside studio partner Jörn Elling Wuttke) as well as Eight Miles High, Soylent Green, Tracks On Delivery, Roman IV or Ro 70 (solo projects). He is also co-producer of the Sven Väth albums 'Contact' and 'Fire', released two 12"s in collaboration with David Holmes, another two singles with Move D and recorded a song with Robert Forster from The Go-Betweens for a Sensorama album. Roman has released records on Ladomat, Source, Cocoon, Harthouse, R&S Records, or Dial and is part of the Klang Elektronik-Playhouse-Ongaku label. He also has an impressive string of remixes under his belt for Primal Scream, The Human League, Chicks On Speed, Baby Ford, Blaze or David Holmes to name but a few. More info |

23:00 | This Is Moscow: Sander Kleinenberg (Netherlands) |
A Dj whose sets range from sparse and dark trance to uplifting and deep house, Sander Kleinenberg keeps busy hopping around the globe to spin at high-profile clubs and producing tracks that end up on numerous compilations. Kleinenberg is not only an artist who declines to stick to a single, easily defined sound, he also utilizes more than one medium to create a night out. Long at the forefront of integrating video imagery and other visuals in his DVJ sets, Sander includes Pioneer among his sponsors for these innovative performances. Integrating music and images single-handedly requires sharpened skills and on-the-fly invention. "Now, in the process of DJing, I am in control of another dimensions. The thought processes are not just about music; there is a visual element as well". Which allows his to shape his identity, and stimulate crowds, in a host of fresh ways. "This is a whole new way of looking at what you do creatively. In the end, that is very challenging. It makes you more versatile as well. I love keeping on my toes". |
