19:00 Bo Saris: She's on Fire (Netherlands)
Bo SarisBoris Titulaer, currently better known as Bo Saris, is a contemporary soul singer-songwriter from the Netherlands. He began performing at the age of 17. "I had this old buddy of mine who was a great guitar player," he remembers. "My mother moved to the south of Spain, and we'd walk there on the beach in our bare feet just with an acoustic guitar and some percussion. We did loads of touring on the streets, little clubs, beach bars." Bo Saris was born in Venlo, Netherlands. He currently resides in London, England. Since 2004, Saris has released three solo albums and a live album in the Netherlands. He was the winner of the second edition of the Dutch talent show Idols. Following a series of successful albums in the Netherlands, Bo moved to London to start afresh via a meeting with elusive superstar Bill Withers, after Bo performed at a tribute show in Amsterdam attended by the retired soul great in 2011. He sits well with the recent soul revival wave, similar to the likes of Amy Winehouse, Plan B, Jamie Lidell, Adele and Cee-Lo Green. His first release under the moniker Bo Saris, She's On Fire, peaked at # 5 in the Dutch Alternative Music charts in August 2012. The EP release included remixes from deep house heavyweight Maya Jane Coles and drum and bass legend Calibre. Both had a limited vinyl release. He is also featured on the Chase & Status song "Breathing" from their 2013 album Brand New Machine. Bo is signed to DERAM Records under Universal Music Group and has released two EPs - The Addict and Little Bit More - Remixes. Bo Saris was praised as the "Soul Sensation" by British newspaper The Guardian. With the looks of Chris Isaak, and a voice that balances between Raphael Saadiq and John Legend, he creates a happy soul feeling reminiscent of the best moments of Simply Red. More info

Barakatt will perform with the 90 musicians of the prestigious Yaroslavl Academic Symphonic Orchestra under the direction of its renowned conductor Murad Annamamedov. In creating "Ad Vitam Aeternam" Barakatt unveils new musical horizons within today's orchestral music. The upcoming event will also commemorate the 5th anniversary of "Lullaby, The UNICEF Anthem" composed by Barakatt, who along with Grosheva, serve as National Ambassadors of UNICEF Canada. The choral symphony first premiered on five continents in orchestra concerts and in Outer Space on the international Space Station on November 20, 2009. "It is a great opportunity to commemorate the Convention of the Rights of the Child and realize that all together, we can create a better world for so many children still in needs," adds Barakatt. For more than 30 years, the music of Steve Barakatt has been recognized throughout the world for its beautiful, melodic approach, inspiring audiences to explore their innermost feelings. Born in Quebec City, Canada, Barakatt, at the young age of four fell under the spell of music and began piano lessons. Over the next ten years, he studied classical music, and then crossed over to jazz. Barakatt enjoyed many challenging musical experiences from an early age, including being invited as a guest soloist with l'Orchestre Symphonique de Québec, when he was only 13. At 16, he became fascinated by composition, arranging and production, studying new technologies as they became available and quickly mastering all the intricacies of music programming. In 1992, the prestigious Japanese firm Roland invited him to present their new products at the annual NAMM Show in California. A versatile and imaginative musician, Barakatt has been invited to compose music for films and television and appeared on various recordings and live performances. Over the years, he has collaborated with several renowned artists such as Maxim Vengerov, Myung-whun Chung, Nana Mouskouri, Natasha St-Pier, Angélique Kidjo, Leon Lai, Agnes Chan and many ensembles such as L'Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, The Alexandrov Red Army Choir, The Bilkent Symphony, The Choir of the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and The Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra.
