22:00 Hypnotic Brass Ensemble (USA)
Hypnotic Brass EnsembleHypnotic Brass Ensemble is an eight-strong cohort consisting of eight men playing brass instruments—two trombones, four trumpets, one sousaphone, and a euphonium—and a drummer. Inspired by jazz, funk, hip-hop, and other genres the band originated in USA, first playing on the streets of Chicago, New York, and elsewhere. Giving spectacular live perfomances and selling self-released CDs, the group gradually built a loyal following and and won international popularity. The music style of Hypnotic Brass Ensemble can be characterized as jazz but it's hardly classical jazz - the band combines melodic jazz tunes with a steady hip-hop beat. The ensemble started recording in 2004 and has released twelve albums since then. They have performed with Mos Def, Aquilla Sadalla, Phil Cohran, The Recipe, Nomadic Massive, Tony Allen and at the North Sea Jazz Festival. In late 2007 the group recorded with Erykah Badu and Maxwell and in 2009 the band supported Blur during their Hyde Park reunion concerts. Besides they have collaborated with Gorillaz, participating in recording of their third studio album, "Plastic Beach". More info
