18:00 Mike Terrana (USA)
Mike TerranaMike Terrana is an American hard rock and heavy metal drummer. His first professional work was in 1984 with the band Hanover Fist from Toronto Canada, after which he recorded and toured with other bands, playing many styles of music in Western New York state. Between 1987 and 1997 he was based in Los Angeles and worked with various virtuos guitarists, including Yngwie Malmsteen, Tony MacAlpine, Steve Lukather, Kuni and Beau Nasty. In 1997 Terrana moved to Europe, first in the Netherlands for six months and then Germany. He worked with the German bands Rage, Gamma Ray, Savage Circus, Axel Rudi Pell, Roland Grapow and Masterplan. Mike is currently a recording and touring member of the Tarja Turunen band (ex-singer of Nightwish) and has recently recorded her last two solo releases entitled "What Lies Beneath" and "Colours in the Dark". In the summer of 2013 Mike founded his own band called Terrana, a classic three-piece power trio reminiscent of the music that was generated in the 1970's, no pro tools, no auto-tune and no drum samples, just pure live rock'n'roll with a positive message. The band will release ten songs in the spring of 2014 followed by subsequent tours of Europe and South America. The band includes Fabri Kiarelli (guitar and lead vocals), Alberto Bollati (bass and lead vocals) and of course Mike Terrana (drums). Terrana stated: "I always wanted to make a band that was powerful and yet that was still able to retain the melodic qualities in terms of lead vocal lines, harmonies and guitar riffs and solos. I grew up the listening to the music of the 60's and 70's so even though Im known for playing a lot of power metal, I always felt that I had to get back to my roots. The other two guys in the band also have the same influences and grew up in the same era as myself, so we get along well and share the same musical tastes, which makes writing, recording and performing together much more easy and fun. Fabri Kiarelli is a very versatile and powerful singer and a great guitar player. Alberto Bollati is an amazing bass player with great feel and also has a excellent voice. I think both Fabri and Alberto harmonize and blend well together. Each guy can sing lead vocal so this also gives each song a different flavor."
