19:00 Vivaldi Orchestra
A well-known Russian ensemble "Vivaldi Orchestra" conducted by violinist Svetlana Bezrodnaya presents a new program to the St. Valentine's Day titled "Love and Tango". Performers: Dmitry Pevtsov, Dmitry Vasin and Esmer Omerova, Sergey Polyansky, soloists of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre's brass band. In program: A. De Bassi, C. Gardel, E. Donato, F. Canaro, G. Manzi, E. Arolas, Pablo Neruda (from the series "Twenty Poems of Love and a song of despair"). The prototype for "Vivaldi Orchestra" was the orchestra of the women's conservatoire in San-Pieta, Venezia, under the great Italian maestro Antonio Vivaldi. "Antonio Vivaldi was not an ordinary man. He was not only a priest but a man of progressive views. He was a padre and a professor of music. Unfortunately, compositions that he wrote for young women playing in his orchestra were never performed on any stage. I wanted to create a women's orchestra and materialize the design of the great maestro," - says Svetlana Bezrodnaya. "Vivaldi Orchestra" comprises 18 charming women who play violin, viola, cello and even double bass. On the stage they wear fancy dresses which remind audiences of the time of Vivaldi. Annually the orchestra gives over 100 concerts; musicians made many recordings and prepared several compact discs. "Our repertoire is broad: we play music of various styles and epoches. The selection of compositions is not casual. Tango is a unique stratum in musical culture. My attitude to tango is special. Tango reminds me of my parent's life. I devoted to them and all people of their generation one of the album's discs. We have recorded wonderful music of Alexander Vertinsky, Oskar Strok, Leonid Utesov and other popular authors of the mid-20th century. In their music there is everything - a whirl of passions, love and tenderness," - she adds.

19:00 Anastacia (USA)
AnastaciaRaised in New York City, Anastacia came from an entertainment-oriented family: her father was a singer; her mother an actress in musical theater on Broadway. Despite being diagnosed with the chronic intestinal illness Crohn's disease at age 13, she developed a career as a dancer, appearing on Club MTV and in such music videos as Salt-N-Pepa's "Everybody Get Up" and "Twist and Shout." In 1999, she was a finalist on the MTV talent contest show The Cut, which attracted the interest of record labels. She signed to the Daylight custom label of Sony Music's Epic Records and recorded her debut album, Not That Kind, which was released internationally in 2000. The result was massive success: the album reached the Top Ten in eight European and Far East countries, selling over two million copies. At home, the single "I'm Outta Love" became a dance hit, paving the way for the release of a revised version of Not That Kind in the U.S. in March 2001. A year later, she was creating a buzz in America. She joined Mary J. Blige, Cher, Shakira, and others for VH1's fifth annual Divas Live showcase in May 2002. She made her proper American debut with Freak of Nature in June. A self-titled album followed in 2004, with the compilation Pieces of a Dream: Best Of arriving a year later. After making a successful foray into fashion with her own clothing line in 2006, Anastacia returned to music in 2007 and a year later released her fourth album, Heavy Rotation. Another break preceded 2012's It's a Man's World where she spent time in 2009 touring with LuLu for the Here Come the Girls tour and then her own headline shows in 2010. The album saw Anastacia go back to basics with her powerful voice mixed with rock-influenced, pop tracks, which included a cover of Foo Fighters "Best of You". Her 2014's Resurrection is a strong and interesting word. It is the translation of her name in Greek. It is description of something that is re-born. Resurrection is fittingly the title of her new album. Anastacia has been on a long journey both in life and with her career in music. Sometimes you have to lose your way to find yourself again, overcome challenges, experiment, but if you’re focused enough you'll find your way back. You'll resurrect everything that went off track. If anyone knows how to find their inner strength, focus and not give up, it's Anastacia. The album is simply stunning. A true melodic, heartfelt, emotional but also uplifting journey. It's a statement from a warrior, a fighter who sends a message of encouragement to the world. Don't give up, stay positive, find your inner-strength. From the uplifting, infectious, fun, pop tracks that make you just want to get up and dance (which, by the way you simply can't help but sing along to no matter how hard you might try) to the tracks that literally grab your heart, make you swallow the lump in your throat, while fighting back the tears that will eventually trickle down your face. For anyone who doesn't know the challenges Anastacia has faced, there have been a few. It was just recently in April 2013, she was diagnosed with breast cancer for the 2nd time in her life 10 years after her first battle. Some would have crumbled, fallen at this hurdle but Anastacia refused to let it get the better of her. n the back of her mind she knew this day might come, so as much as one can never really prepare themselves for such news, she researched her options and was certain of her plan. Not a light decision to say the least, but she was to undergo a double mastectomy and rid her breast cancer once and for all. This process would be intense and require "time out" for recovery, but until the day of the operation she found solace in writing a journal of songs. A cathartic approach, something to focus on. She was ready to find herself again, speak out to the world through her music, her resurrection. Her personal changes and challenges went hand in hand with the hurdles occurring in the music industry. A world that has taken a beating but fought back. No one can live without music. No one can live without the fight to survive. Everyone faces challenges and writing this album was Anastacia's opportunity to share her experiences and turn them into words of encouragement. In Moscow Anastacia will perform her new and the best songs special to your St. Valentine's Day. More info

19:00 Piano Trios: Favorites
"Piano Trios. Favorites" series. Performers: Ekaterina Mechetina (piano), Nikita Borisoglebsky (violin), Sergey Antonov (cello). In program: Saint-Saëns, Faure, Ravel. Ekaterina Mechetin is the highest-class Russian pianist. Her voyage as a professional artist is relatively young but already rich in events, and one is struck not only by the swift impetuosity of her upward flight to the musical Olympus, but also by her gradual but irresistible advance to the summits of musical mastery. However, there is one factor that stands out in Mechetina's journey; although she can boast many successful performances at international contests, she does not owe her well-deserved reputation to these. Her secret lies not only in her constantly maturing talent, but also in her keen interest in the broader musical field - and a relentless desire to expand her demanding music well beyond the limits of the typical competition repertoire. This is rare amongst today's performers. Being one of the brightest musicians of the younger generation, Nikita Borisoglebsky has been generally recognized after his brilliant appearance at the XIII International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (2007). His talent was marked with Russian and international awards and scholarships as those from the "Yamaha" Performance Arts fund, "Russian Performance Art" fund, Moscow Conservatory's and Russian government grants. Sergey Antonov is a cellist for the ages. Hailed in his early 20's as "a brilliant cellist" by no less than Mstislav Rostropovich, he has blossomed into an artist of great warmth and musical brilliance. One of the youngest awardees of the prestigious Tchaikovsky medal in Moscow, Antonov plays with near technical perfection and a fully mature sense of line.
