KomMissia-2015
KomMissiaXIV International KomMissia Festival 2015 is an event for people who love graphic novels, comics, manga etc. The first KomMissia hold in 2002. The 2015 festival program includes meetings with foreign and Russian stars (Askold Akishin, Alena Kamishevskaya, Alim Velitov, Artem Trahanov, Philip Sosedov, Igor Kozhevnikov and others), cosplay show based on favourite comics and manga, a fair of comics and collection things, three professional competitions, an exhibition of Russian and foreign artists, workshops and presentations of new projects, an exhibition of Russian comics which was made in 90s. In 2015 the participations of the festival will be delegations from China, France, UK, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland and Germany. The main guest will be a British comics artist Brian Bolland who has worked with Alan Moore on characters of Batman and Joker. Another star who will come in Moscow will be Rodney Ramos who will tell about his work on series of "Punisher War Journal", "Amazing Spider-Man" and "Iron Man". Besides Marvel Ramos has also worked on Batman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern. The organizers have also invited a comic book artist and writer Damion Scott, known for his work on books such as Batman, Robin, and Batgirl, Web of Spider-Man, and Duppy. He splits his time between New York and Tokyo, where he founded an art studio that publishes a Japanese comic called Saturday Morning Cartoons or SAM-C. The special part of the festival will be dedicated to the Russian fiction and a connection between comics and literature. The cult fantast Oleg Divov will be a guest of the program. The exhibition "The Influence 2015: Contemporary Art" which will be a part of the KomMissia Festival 2015 and will become an annual event in future will present works of 14 Russian artists which were inspired by comics. The curator of the project will be Donasien de Rochambeau, a collector and comics expert. More info
